Peter lawson
Peter Lawson was born in Vernon in 1950. His family moved the same year to Vancouver Island and settled in Victoria, where he still lives and works today. Following graduation from Kootenay School of Art, Peter had a successful career with design studios and advertising agencies where he held a number of key positions in creative and client services. Always involved in the creative process, Peter’s art is a reflection of his strong design background and appreciation for the natural world. Inspired by the work of van Gogh and Canadian artists Lawren Harris and E.J. Hughes, Peter’s affection for nature is made obvious through the dedication to his work. Whether it’s capturing a water-reflected coastal landscape or a towering interior forest, there’s a “ strength of peacefulness “ to his art that has attracted the interest of collectors.
