Creativity has been my passion since childhood.
Awarded an art scholarship from High School in California and have been taking classes in everything that comes my way since.
In 1981 I started life drawing and watercolor classes with a locale artists and Federation of Canadian Artists. Had the pleasure of attending classes at Saltspring Island, B.C, Vancouver,B.C and Arizona,USA.
I’m one of the founding members of the North Okanagan Chapter of the F.C.A.and was Chairperson of workshops. We brought in teachers from the Federation and Ontario to give classes in Vernon. Taught painting classes in Armstrong and Vernon and juried: Blue Ribbon Show, Armstrong; Shuswap Lake Festival of the Arts, Sorrento; Kelowna, FCA and Interior Provincial Exhibition.
Participated in the Foundation Classes for drawing and received a certificate.
Group shows : Vancouver F.C.A, Aim, Armstrong Art Gallery, Vernon Art Gallery, Gallery Odin, annual artist run shows in Oyama and Gray Monk Winery, Federation Gallery. Solo Gallery Shows: Hycroft House, Vancouver; Vernon Art Gallery, Vernon; Old School House Gallery, Qualicum Beach, Vancouver Island.
Awards from Federation of Canadian Artists: Best of Show, Honorable Mentions, and the Tinyang Chang Award. Paintings accepted for cover of 100 years Interior Provincial Exhibition book and for CDs: Moving Lightly
Through the World and Somewhere Over Yonder. Donated and painted large mural for the Provincial Exhibition
in Armstrong, British Columbia.
Accepted status to Associate Federation of Canadian Artists in 2004,AFCA.
My painting style is impressionistic using acrylic, collage and art crayon.
Works can be viewed at Gallery Odin on Silver Star Mountain, British Columbia.
