Matthew Legge
My name is Matthew Legge and I was born in Langley, BC in 1974. I am a husband of 22 years and a father to 2 sons and 1 daughter. I have been very artistic all of my life, enjoying many different mediums of art from drawing, painting and sculpting. During the day I work for Canada Post and by night I work on my true passion of sculpting stone. When I was younger I greatly wanted to pursue the arts but unfortunately it was not an option for me at the time. I married in 2000 and started to get to know my father in-law Herb Latreille, who had been a very successful sculptor of stone for many years. We finally set some time aside for me to get my hands dirty in his sculpting shop. I very naively thought it would be easy and I found I was quickly and greatly humbled. There began a love of sculpting stone and a mentoring relationship with my father in-law Herb that I deeply cherish.
